Blog Assignment

This is a tree. It isn't very good. I made a grid, tried to trace a tree, got a whole bunch of bark and dirt, and filled in whatever i didn't get with colored pencils. for the top of the tree i used leaves and flowers. the background is a whole bunch of sticky notes.

This is my flip book. It is about a stick man. his magic cape lets him fly so he jumps off a trampoline and flies. He goes higher and higher. He passes and airplane and shoots up into the clouds. He flies too high and thunder clouds start to form. As he is struck by a bolt of electricity his cape falls off. He falls really hard, and explosion happens and he gets up on fire. When it stats to rain until a flood occurs he starts swimming to the shore. there he finds his magic cape and flies into a rainbow. The end

Greek Dancing has been a tradition for Greek festivals at all churches. Although i'm not religious, my mom wanted me to dance for the church because no other kids wanted to. Every year around Fall we hold our and dance for the old people. where hundreds of people funnel in and out throughout the day. I decided that since i wanted to stick to something i knew, i went to a nearby church, dressed up, and danced with them.

Rigoletto The technology used in Rigoletto, by Giuseppe Verdi, was what I could only call a beautiful display of artwork. Most of the works were done with pulleys and strings, which I found very interesting. It was nice to see that even in the days before technology people had the artistic mindset to brings inanimate objects to life. Since I can only watch modern, or more modern, versions of the opera, I will never be able to know the true work and effort that it took to prepare such works without technology. However, if the adaptations of the opera are as similar as I like to think in terms of art work and costumes it makes perfect sense as to why the opera was such a hit performance. Imagine a life without technology, where what you can do as a person and what you can see as a person are incredibly limited compared to modern times. I am not very good at art and I was not able to make the need match up to the spoon or merge the picture together. I am sorry but I simply don't know how. My picture is the two end of a needle with an absinthe spoon replacing the middle. I used an absinthe spoon because the thought of the alcohol attracted me, and the effects of the drug sounded like a medication. In the baroque era, absinthe was a popular spirit among the higher class. the alcohol concentrate is as high as 70-80%. Fancy folk would use the spoons to put a code pf sugar in it, dip it inside the tea, and light the sugar for fire before putting it back in. Their are tales of people having hallucinations while consuming the spirit, for a time it was illegal in the U.S. even after prohibition. After scientists deemed it safe it was made legal again but is still lethal is drank straight.  The needle represents how this drink could kill you. Or how you could kill yourself with the drug.
